Villa Marigola

High above the Gulf of Poets stands the majestic Villa Marigola, built in the 18th century as a summer residence for the Marchese Ollandini. This estate, surrounded by oak trees, changed hands several times—from the English banker Reginald Jenkin Pearse, who hosted European nobility and artists here at the end of the 19th century, to the shipowner Giovanni Battista Bibolini, who expanded the villa in 1926.

The Chiesa di San Francesco d'Assisi in Lerici is an impressive example of Ligurian Baroque architecture from the 17th century, with its distinctive pink stone facade that immediately catches your eye. Inside, you'll find a large single-nave church with valuable artworks, including paintings by Domenico Fiasella and Jan Miel, as well as a marble baptismal font from 1448. The church also houses the revered image of the Madonna of Maralunga, which, according to legend, was found by fishermen in the sea in 1480. Built between 1632 and 1636 on the site of an older church from the 14th century, it was consecrated by the Bishop of Luni-Sarzana, Giovanni Domenico Spinola, and continues to serve as an important religious center for the city today.

Geopaleontological Museum of Lerici

The Castello di Lerici housed a fascinating museum from 1998 to 2015, named after its young discoverer Ilario Sirigu. At just twelve years old, Sirigu found dinosaur footprints in the area in 1987, which turned out to be 220 million years old.

Hike to Portesone

Portesone is a historic, abandoned village that now exists only as well-preserved ruins. Easily accessible via the well-marked CAI trail No. 431, which begins in Tellaro, you can reach the remains of this medieval village, abandoned in the 16th century after a plague epidemic. The stone houses, including the wooden beams of the roofs, as well as the two-story buildings, offer a glimpse into the past, reflecting the pirate raids that once plagued the area.

Villa Rezzola

The "Villa Rezzola" is an Italian mansion located on the Gulf of La Spezia near the district of Pugliola in Lerici, featuring a large, terraced park that slopes down towards the sea. The estate was included in the list of landscape protection assets of the country in 1951 and offers an exceptional view of the Gulf of La Spezia.
