Schönbrunn Palace

Set against the imperial backdrop of Schönbrunn Palace, one of Vienna’s largest Easter markets invites visitors with around 75 stalls. Handmade arts and crafts – from ceramics and woodwork to fine jewelry – meet a wide selection of food stands. Kids can enjoy a dedicated program, with a straw maze, Easter bunny workshop, and treasure hunts to keep them entertained. Perfect for a festive stroll in imperial style. A true classic in our eyes – and the perfect way to start the Easter season.

Old Viennese Easter Market at Freyung

In the heart of the old town, surrounded by historic palaces, lies one of Vienna’s most traditional Easter markets. Europe’s largest mountain of Easter eggs—around 40,000 hand-painted ones stacked high—makes for a vibrant photo opportunity. The market features classic handicrafts, regional specialties, and a lovingly curated children’s program with live music, craft workshops, and puppet theatre.

Easter Market Am Hof

Just a few steps away, starting April 4, the Easter Market Am Hof blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. Between the Marian Column and elegant façades, 50 exhibitors showcase everything from artistic ceramics and egg liqueur to fine jewelry. Hearty snacks, apple strudel, and local wine complete the experience. A stylish market for connoisseurs, full of charm in the heart of the city.

Hirschstetten

The Hirschstetten Flower Gardens are worth a visit year-round—but on two weekends in April, they transform into one of Vienna’s most idyllic Easter markets. Children can be seen painting eggs and potting summer flowers, while parents relax on picnic blankets and curious visitors explore the stalls offering regional food, a carousel, and handmade crafts.

Outside Vienna: Schloss Hof

Just under an hour from Vienna, yet it feels like stepping into another world. The Easter market at Schloss Hof is spacious, family-friendly, and full of charm: golden egg hunts, magic shows, ponies, and brass bands. Add to that the baroque gardens and a lovingly maintained animal park with donkeys, goats, and camels. A perfect day trip into the Marchfeld countryside.

Kalvarienberg Festival

In Vienna’s 17th district, along Kalvarienberggasse and St.-Bartholomäus-Platz, the Kalvarienberg Festival breathes new life into a traditional Viennese custom. Less of a market and more of a cultural spring celebration – with artist stalls, live music, Easter noisemakers, and bonfires. If you're looking to experience Vienna beyond the usual tourist routes, this is the place to be.

Schloss Neugebäude

In Simmering, Schloss Neugebäude opens its gates in mid-April for a small but delightful Easter market. Alongside the market stalls, there’s a cozy Easter bonfire, music, and the traditional blessing of palm branches. The historic setting creates a unique atmosphere, far from the hustle of the city center.

Floridsdorf: Easter with Local Flair

At Franz-Jonas-Platz, right next to the train station, Vienna’s northernmost Easter market sets up shop. It’s not a big spectacle, but features charming craft stalls, baked treats, and colorful decorations. If you live in Floridsdorf, you’ll pass by anyway. For everyone else, it’s a lovely stop for a quieter Easter stroll.
